28-year-old footballer, Ibrahim Konsha has been killed by Islamist militants. This was made known by Egyptian football club, El Qanah.
It is gathered that the footballer was one of nine soldiers killed in the Sinai peninsula and he was fulfilling his national service.
A statement by the club partly reads thus:
Our player Ibrahim Konsha died in terrorist attacks against a battalion of the Egyptian Army.
